Rose and the Nightingale

New York-based chamber jazz ensemble Rose and the Nightingale blurs the boundaries of jazz, folk, and world music, and features intricate and tight vocal harmonies, fiery improvisations, and an unusual instrumentation of three voices, violin, cello, piano, and trumpet. The group’s name is inspired by  a line of Rumi poetry: “Rose and the Nightingale,/Lost in the Fragrance,” and the group’s art songs feature lyrics of poetry celebrating the nexus of spirituality and nature.
