Internationally acclaimed Dutch artist and textile designer Claudy Jongstra of Studio Claudy Jongstra will present the in-depth knowledge she has gained from years of experimenting and working with products from the land, including dye plants and natural fibers. Jongstra, who is also artistic director of Farm of the World, strongly believes in the value of researching ancient knowledge of dye plants, propagating crops to restore biodiversity, working together to produce handmade pieces, and taking part in a local community from which her mission and work reach out globally. Join us as Claudy Jongstra explores the relationship between her work and the land, and shares images of her process and materials, collaborative biodynamic agricultural center, and textiles.

Following the lecture, Jongstra will sign copies of her new self-titled book. Printed with dyes made from indigo, madder, and chamomile from Jongstra’s farm, the book is a personal and visual reflection of Jongstra’s working process. Books are available for advance purchase for an additional $75.00.
