1:00-4:00 PM

Join friends and members of the OJAS team as they activate the immersive sound installation, HiFi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No. 3. They will play music specifically selected to be heard through this large-scale, handmade audio system located in the historic Carnegie Library at Cooper Hewitt.

Play Music Bingo

2:15-2:45  and 3:30-4:00

Test your music knowledge with Listening is Fundamental, an interactive music experience that explores the art of sampling through communal listening and a bingo-style game.

In celebration of National Jazz Appreciation Month in April, this program will be presented in two sessions exploring how jazz has shaped R&B and hip-hop. Original jazz recordings will be paired with their sampled counterparts to trace the evolution of sound and highlight jazz as a foundational influence on contemporary music.

Take part in a curator-led tour of Art of Noise and explore one hundred years of design for sound. From concert posters to record albums, phonographs to digital music players, handheld radios to sound systems, discover how design has transformed people’s relationship to music.
