FLEA’S ALBUM HONORA ON ROTATION IN THE HIFI PURSUIT LISTENING ROOM DREAM NO. 3

Join the OJAS team and friends as they activate the HiFi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No. 3 with music from renowned musician Flea. Ahead of the album’s release on March 27, visitors will be able to experience Flea’s first full-length solo jazz album, Honora, through the listening room’s large-scale, handmade audio system.

Known under his creative pseudonym OJAS, Devon Turnbull handcrafts high-fidelity audio systems designed to envelop the listener in sound that is as rich in texture as it is in emotion. Upon entering, visitors will encounter realistic, natural sound from Turnbull’s sculptures and a chance to slow down and engage deeply in listening.

Please Note: Access to the HiFi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No. 3 is limited and on a first- come basis. If you have pre-purchased admission tickets and it is at capacity when you arrive, your ticket can be refunded.

AccessibiliTy & What to Expect

  • Format: Drop in to listen to the live operator’s music selections as they activate the sound system. Due to the limited capacity, if there is a line, visitors may be limited to 15 minutes in the listening room. Visitors will be notified when it is time to leave. Access to the HiFi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No. 3 is on a first come basis. If you have pre-purchased admission tickets and it is at capacity when you arrive, your ticket can be refunded.
  • About the space: The listening room is located in the museum’s historic Carnegie Library space. Some seating is available along with standing room. It is fully wheelchair accessible. There is an accessible restroom on the ground floor. Read more about accessibility at Cooper Hewitt.
  • Accommodations: Accessibility resources, including T-Coil, sound dampening headphones, and a priority line for visitors with disabilities, are available to support your participation. Ask a staff member or email CHAccess@si.edu for more information.
