GREGORY UHLMANN IN THE HIFI PURSUIT LISTENING ROOM DREAM NO. 3
Join Chicago-based recording company International Anthem for a series of four listening experiences this April and May. Featuring analog tape reels printed from original masters—including recent, new, and upcoming releases—each session takes place inside Devon Turnbull’s immersive sound installation HiFi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No. 3.
First up, musician, composer, and guitarist Gregory Uhlmann will be joined by the label’s co-founder Scottie McNiece. Using his extensive background across a variety of genres including jazz, folk, and electronic, Uhlmann will play music from his new album Extra Stars as well as recent releases from his co-led quintet SML.
Additional International Anthem listening sessions include BODY SOUND on Friday, April 24; Jeff Parker on Monday, May 11; and, Kalia Vandeve on Tuesday, May 12.
Designed to envelop the listener in sound that is as rich in texture as it is in emotion, visitors will experience realistic, natural sound from Turnbull’s sculptures and a chance to slow down and engage deeply in listening.
