Join Shantell Martin in the Arthur Ross Terrace and Garden for a design talk moderated by Matilda McQuaid Cooper Hewitt, Deputy Curatorial Director & Head of Textiles, followed by a demonstration and drop-in drawing activity led by the multifaceted designer and artist. Materials will be provided, and the activity is open to all ages.
The work of Shantell Martin is a meditation of lines—a language of characters, creatures, and messages that invites her viewers to share in her creative process. Her illustrations transform everything from walls and found objects to ceramics and sneakers into a visual narrative, and Martin’s textile work is currently on view in Making | Breaking: New Arrivals.
