Join Cooper Hewitt for the Design career Event of the Year!

Teens, college students, and emerging designers are invited to learn about design careers and education opportunities from National Design Award winners and jurors, guest designers, and college representatives.

Guest speakers include Sasha Ariel Alston, author of Sasha Savvy Loves to Code, Desmond is Amazing, 12-year-old drag kid and advocate, and Teni “Tia” Adeola, 22-year-old fashion designer.

During the Design Career Fair, teens, young adults, and emerging designers with Autism and other forms of neurodiversity are invited to speak with designers and creative companies about future professional opportunities. Learn more here.

All participants (and their parent/legal guardian if participant is under age 18) must also review and sign the program release form.

ABOUT NATIONAL DESIGN WEEK

Launched in 2006, National Design Week is held each year in conjunction with the National Design Awards program. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the National Design Awards, Cooper Hewitt will offer free admission to all museum visitors during National Design Week (October 12–19, 2019), courtesy of Target, and will host a series of free education programs broadening access to the vision and work of the country’s design leaders, inspiring people of all ages to engage with design and design thinking.
