Join Cooper Hewitt and our Museum Mile neighbors for the 48th annual Museum Mile Festival. Festival attendees can walk Museum Mile on Fifth Avenue between 82nd Street and 110th Street while visiting eight of New York City’s finest cultural institutions, all of which are open to the public with free admission throughout the event.

What’s on at Cooper Hewitt

Exhibitions On View

Garden

Activity ongoing, 68:30 p.m.
Outdoors (weather permitting)

Get ready to dance! In celebration of the current Art of Noise exhibition, Cooper Hewitt will activate the museum’s garden with dancing, DJs, and music played on the Karlala Soundsystem—a hot pink speaker system designed and engineered by Karl Scholz. Enjoy music by Cesar Toribio and Mickey Pérez of Public Service, an all-ages dance party held primarily in city parks that pays tribute to New York City’s dance music and sound system culture. For the Festival, they will be playing funk, R&B, disco, and house fused with dance music from the African, Caribbean, and South American diasporas.
