As part of National Design Week, the 2017 National Design Award winners will lead concurrent salons for discussion of new ideas and advancements in design. Participants will  forge valuable connections with the brightest minds in the design world and network with fellow attendees. Light refreshments will be served.

The Winners’ Salon is broken into concurrent break-out sessions, and each participant will need to pre-register for only one of the following sessions:

Session 1: The Next Generation with Hartmut Esslinger (Lifetime Achievement Award) & Deborah Berke (Deborah Berke Partners, Interior Design Award)

Session 2: Diversity and Equity in Communities with Craig L. Wilkins (Design Mind Award) & Michael Murphy (MASS Design Group, Architecture Award)

Session 3: Civic Engagement with Susan Chin (Design Trust for Public Space, Corporate & Institutional Achievement Award) & James A. Lord (Surfacedesign, Landscape Architecture Award)

Session 4: High-touch Ideas with Jennifer Morla(Communication Design Award) & Joe Doucet (Product Design Award)

Session 5: Concepts and Connections with Mary Ping (Slow and Steady Wins the Race, Fashion Design Award) & Eric Rodenbeck (Stamen Design, Interaction Design Award)

Please note that you will only be able to attend one of the sessions, as they will occur at the same time.

ABOUT NATIONAL DESIGN WEEK

Launched in 2006, National Design Week is held each year in conjunction with the National Design Awards program. During National Design Week, Cooper Hewitt’s award-winning Education Department hosts a series of free public programs centered around the vision and work of the National Design Awards honorees. National Design Week culminates with the National Design Awards Gala.
