2018 Call for Student Entries
About the showcase of student projects ON ACCESSIBILITY AND INCLUSION
Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum invites university-level students to join the premier showcase of student projects proposing design solutions to improve accessibility or inclusion. All accepted entries will be on display in Cooper Hewitt’s Barbara and Morton Mandel gallery between February 5–24, 2018. Accepted students will receive free admission to the Designing Accessible Cities Symposium on February 8, 2018 and will present their ideas to a panel of experts on February 9, 2018.

Over 70 innovative designs developed in the last decade for and with people with disabilities reflect the changing emphasis on what a person can do if given the opportunity. From low-tech products that assist with daily routines to the newest technologies, design is augmenting the potential for people to access the world in ways previously unimaginable.
