Objective: Build a simple version of your idea.

A prototype is a designer’s first try at making something new. It’s like a model or practice version to see if an idea works. Designer’s prototype because it helps them get ideas out, make mistakes, and learn from them!

 

Carry-It Challenge, Grades: K-5

Practice your building skills and create a prototype for a backpack, box, or case designed for your favorite snack, adventure, or something silly.

Recreate a Design Object, Grades: 6-12

Time: 20-30 min

Practice prototyping by re-creating an existing object to better understand how it works and how it might be improved.
