HiFi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No. 3 Playlist Tracks

Jazz
Focusing on seminal jazz recordings from legendary New York label Blue Note Records, all tracks on this playlist were recorded and mixed by famed engineer Rudy Van Gelder, who recorded almost every session by the record label from 1953-1967. The installation aims to create a lifelike reproduction of the jazz performance recordings, almost sounding like the musicians are there in person. In this playlist, the 1958 song “Blue Train” transports you to when John Coltrane recorded the pivotal hit while other jazz standards from the genre’s forefathers, including Herbie Hancock, Thelonius Monk, and Miles Davis Quartet, take you through the early years of this groundbreaking label.
