see me at the smithsonian

This program is part of See Me at the Smithsonian, a free program that fosters connection and belonging for adults with dementia and their companions through discussions and reflections on museum objects.

In this online program, we will explore the textiles of Dorothy Liebes. Liebes was one of the most influential designers of the 20th century, whose career as a handweaver, textile designer, and color authority made an impact in homes and businesses throughout the United States. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in close looking and discussion about Liebes’ colorful and textured designs. Participants will also be provided materials to participate in a handweaving activity inspired by Liebes’ design process.
