Join us for an evening of hands-on design with shoe designer Edmundo Castillo. After receiving a brief overview from Castillo on the fundamentals of shoe design, participants will sketch and develop their own shoe designs.
Prior to joining Acquatalia as Creative Director and EVP, Edmundo Castillo worked alongside industry icons Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, and Sergio Rossi before launching his eponymous collection in 1999. He has been the recipient of many industry awards, including the Perry Ellis Award for “Best Emerging Accessories Designer” by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Travel + Leisure’s “Design Award for Best Travel Shoes,” and the Rising Star Award from Fashion Group International.
DISEÑO is a partnership between Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum and El Museo del Barrio. This program received federal support from the Latino Initiatives Pool, administered by the Smithsonian Latino Center.
