Jenny E. Sabin’s work is at the forefront of a new direction for twenty-first-century architectural practice—one that investigates the intersections of architecture and science, and applies insights and theories from biology and mathematics to the design of material structures. Her experimental architectural design studio develops models and prototypes for high-tech and high-performance composite fabrics, such as those used for Sabin’s Polythread Knitted Textile Pavilion, commissioned for Beauty—Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial. In addition to her work as principal of Jenny Sabin Studio, Sabin is on the faculty of Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, where she is also Director of the Sabin Design Lab.

Sabin will be in conversation with Cooper Hewitt Senior Curator of Contemporary Design Ellen Lupton.
