Join us as Humberto Campana discusses Estudio Campana’s work in conversation with Caroline Baumann, Director of Cooper Hewitt. Estudio Campana, founded in 1983 by Humberto and Fernando Campana, is renowned for its use of every day or discarded objects to create expressive new forms. The São Paulo-based design firm has explored a wide range of disciplines, from architecture and landscape design to fashion and interior design. Best known for their conceptual product design, the brothers’ iconic Vermelha and Trans… chairs, now part of Cooper Hewitt’s permanent collection, exemplify the designers’ interest in vibrant, chaotic forms that transform and reinvent ordinary and found materials. Recipients of numerous awards and honors, the Campana brothers push the boundaries of form, material, and craft, and are widely credited with revitalizing Brazilian design.
