JUNe 21: cooper hewitt pride night with horrorchata and friends
The series kicks off with a Cooper Hewitt Pride celebration. Horrorchata, cofounder of the celebrated annual Brooklyn drag festival Bushwig, will team up with friends Hannah Lou, Merrie Cherry, Mini Horrorwitz, Angelica Sundae and more to electrify the Upper East Side with DJ sets and performances!

About THE performers
Horrorchata, cofounder of Bushwig Festival
Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Horrorchata is a drag queen, event producer, fashion icon, and DJ extraordinaire living and working in Brooklyn, New York. She is the founder of Be Cute, Brooklyn’s biggest underground queer dance party, Razor 5000, a themed performance party that travels around the country, and — of course — is the cofounder of Bushwig Festival. Bushwig is the only drag festival in Brooklyn and the festival to which Lady Bunny herself passed down the Wigstock torch. Horrorchata has DJ’d for hundreds of parties across the United States and Europe, including the legendary Tranny Olympics in London. Bringing you Brooklyn freaky clown Latina drag, Horrorchata has captivated audiences around the world. She was named one of the top 100 most influential people in Brooklyn magazine and previously won “Drag Queen of the Year” at the Brooklyn Nightlife Awards.
Merrie Cherry
Merrie Cherry is originally from Berkeley, California, but has called Brooklyn home for eight years. She has helped to form a queer community based on love, support, art, and performance. She hosts, emcees, and produces events throughout NYC, the USA, and Europe. She is the creator of the Brooklyn Nightlife Awards and is one of the original organizers of Bushwig and Mr(s). Brooklyn Pageant. With no plans to stop, we can expect so much more from this spicy cherry.
Hannah Lou
Hannah Lou, Brooklyn’s enfant terrible, is a sickening drag performance artist & DJ who is coming up on her fifth year in the drag world and second year spinning beats. She’s found her way into the heart of NYC nightlife spinning at some of the biggest parties in the boroughs. She is part of the House of Bushwig as a protégé of her mother and founder of the house, Horrorchata, which has given her the opportunity to travel and influence the world with her unique sound.
Mini Horrorwitz
Mini Horrorwitz, Brooklyn’s very own Dumpster Diva may looking dangerously evil…and we assure you..SHE IS. With her comedic and thought provoking performances, she will leave you gasping for more!
Angelica Sundae
As Brooklyn’s ONLY Dead Vegas Showgirl, Angelica Sundae can be found spreading her unique brand of spooky glamour all over New York City. When she’s not performing you can find her doing hair at Mudhoney Salon in Soho and styling wigs for some of Brooklyn’s finest queens.
