Discover Design at andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library

Join us Thursday, November 19 at the Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library to explore the Design Across Time exhibition. This program will focus on the theme: Repeat. 

Discover Design at Andrew Heiskell offers an opportunity to connect with the objects, ideas, and stories featured in Cooper Hewitt exhibitions through conversation and hands-on engagement. Museum staff will lead an interactive tactile tour and workshop that includes live verbal description, group discussion, and creative design activities inspired by the exhibition theme. Whether you are a returning participant or joining us for the first time, we invite you to explore, create, and share perspectives with others in a supportive and engaging environment.

​Programs are designed for visitors of all ages who are interested in design. Verbal description of all objects will be provided.  

​This program is free of charge. ​Registration is recommended.

ACCESSIBILITY AND WHAT TO EXPECT 

  • Format: This program is a guided conversation and workshop activity about exhibition objects and themes. Verbal description is provided for every object. Staff will provide an overview of the exhibition and facilitate discussion about select exhibition objects. 
  • About this space: This program will take place at the Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library, co-hosted by Cooper Hewitt staff. 
  • Accommodations:  Verbal description will be provided. A screen reader accessible version of the power point will be provided to registered participants. We welcome questions and accommodation requests that support your participation.
