This spring, the DJs are back in the garden at Cooper-Hewitt!
The series features a different DJ every week and runs Thursday nights from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
For this year's series, Cooper-Hewitt selected DJs from New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Boston known for their technical virtuosity and for their eclectic interpretations of house music. Each DJ has honed his craft for nearly two decades at countless underground events and high-profile venues at home and abroad, alongside house and techno luminaries such as Orbital, Richie Hawtin, Derrick Carter, Doc Martin, Cajmere, Deep Dish, and Josh Wink. While the foundation of their music is house, the DJs play tracks that display an incredible variety of influences-from soul, funk, disco, and jazz to Latin, Brazilian, Caribbean, reggae, dub, Afrobeat, hip hop, and more.
