Cooper-Hewitt has just surpassed 50,000 followers on Twitter and 25,000 fans on Facebook!

Since the museum joined Twitter in 2008, we’ve shared more than 4,000 tweets on everything from historic collection objects to cutting-edge design spotted around the world. Cooper-Hewitt joined Facebook in 2007 to share behind-the-scenes stories, important design news and inside looks at special events like the National Design Awards gala.

During the renovation, social media has become an important place for Cooper-Hewitt to communicate with design enthusiasts all over the world. We’ve expanded our digital frontier by joining Google Art Project, Art.sy, Pinterest, and publishing the monthly Design News. We’ve also broadened digital access to the collection with the popular Object of the Day blog.

What more can we be doing? We welcome your comments and suggestions.

As always, thank you for your support!
