Gig posters fuse art and music—and the best posters capture a band’s excitement, and also operate as powerful design statements. The genre dates back to the 1960s, and in our current internet-era of music, the gig poster is a tangible link between musician and audience. The documentary Just Like Being There offers an intimate look into the lives of gig poster designers and the visual impact of their incredible imagery—from posters pasted on light-poles to highly refined collectors items.
