Curators are storytellers.
And so are you.

Sometimes a story comes from reflecting on a particular moment in one’s life, or a desire to highlight enduring themes, or the remarkable but unknown people whose work is represented by Cooper Hewitt’s collection of more than 215,000 objects. And sometimes it originates from Cooper Hewitt’s own history—as a museum that has been telling design stories since 1897 with objects spanning 30 centuries.

We all have the ability to tell stories but have not always been given the opportunity to do so.

Museum Storytelling

Cooper Hewitt hopes to gather responses through fall 2022. We will reflect on all the suggestions.

We intend this to be the beginning of a dialogue with our public that will influence the programming and content that we produce in the future.
