Cooper Hewitt Pride Night: Bushwig

Horrorchata, cofounder of the celebrated annual Brooklyn drag festival Bushwig, will team up with West Dakota, Magenta, Mini Horrorwitz, Jenn D’role, Dynasty, Hannah Lou, Angelica Sundae and Maxxx Pleasure to electrify the Upper East Side with DJ sets and performances!

Cocktails at Cooper Hewitt is the outdoor summer performance series at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. Join us Thursdays, 6:00–9:00 p.m. for dance, music, and design in the iconic Arthur Ross Terrace and Garden. See the full season lineup here.

Cocktails and light bites are available for purchase from Cooper Hewitt’s Tarallucci e Vino Cafe. Valid I.D. required for cocktails.

Tickets for Cocktails at Cooper Hewitt are $14 online and $16 at the door, per each evening. For children ages 5–17, $7 tickets may be purchased at the garden entrance or museum admissions desk. Children under 5 are free. No refunds. Held rain or shine.

Cocktails at Cooper Hewitt ticket holders may enter the museum starting at 5 p.m.

About THE PERFORMERS

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Horrorchata is a drag queen, event producer, fashion icon, and DJ extraordinaire living and working in Brooklyn, New York. She is the founder of Be Cute, Brooklyn’s biggest underground queer dance party, Razor 5000, a themed performance party that travels around the country, and—of course—the co-founder of Bushwig Festival. Bushwig is the only drag festival in Brooklyn and the festival to which Lady Bunny herself passed down the Wigstock torch. Horrorchata has DJ’d for hundreds of parties across the United States and Europe, including the legendary Tranny Olympics in London. Bringing you Brooklyn freaky clown Latina drag, Horrorchata has captivated audiences around the world. She was named one of the top 100 most influential people in Brooklyn magazine and previously won “Drag Queen of the Year” at the Brooklyn Nightlife Awards.

West Dakota is a Brooklyn-based drag queen, artist, designer, and model. West graduated from Columbia University in 2016 where she studied visual arts. After graduating she relocated to Brooklyn where she launched her drag career.

Magenta queen is born and raise from the Bronx, with a brooklyn Attitude, dancing queen loves to vogue the house down boots, you can catch her almost every night at the Rosemont slaying the stage.

Mini Horrorwitz, a dynamic drag performer who happens to also be a good brooklyn Italian girl. When Mini isn’t stomping down the stage she spends most of her time eating pasta at her favorite ialian restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, on the upper east side. Mini Horrorwitz is in no way affiliated with the Germanottas.

Jenn D’role is a disco Latinx Alien Bruja Gawwdess! With a BX Flavor. Expect high energy and emotion when this peraa Hits the stage. 27 cuban Scottish Native american. GEMINI BORN IN Miami Raised in New York.

Dynasty is a fashion diva and drag artist who has been performing in New York after successfully escaping her beloved home state of Missouri. She’s been featured in publications such as Vogue, New York Magazine, Interview Magazine, and Time Out.

Hannah Lou, party girl turned Drag DJ, is a sickening drag performance artist & DJ who is coming up on her 7th year in the drag world and 4th year spinning beats. She’s found her way into the heart of NYC nightlife spinning at some of the biggest parties in the boroughs. She is part of the House of Bushwig as a protégé to her mother and founder of the house, Horrorchata, which has given her the opportunity to travel and influence the world with her unique sound.

Hailing from Sin City, Angelica Sundae is Brooklyn’s Only Dead Vegas Showgirl, and has been performing for over 10 years. Her signature mix of spooky glamour and witty humor combine to create unforgettable performances all over New York City.

Maxxx Pleasure is a drag king with a rockstar edge and a sensitive center. He is an alum of Sasha Velour’s Nightgowns, star of the documentary “MAXXX,” and the winner of the 2018 Brooklyn Nightlife Award for Drag King of the Year. Follow him on instagram at @mr.mpleasure
