Glass Lab at Governors Island GlassLab, the Corning Museum's live glass design program, features a team of expert glassmakers, who work alongside graphic designers included in Cooper-Hewitt's current exhibition, Graphic Design−Now in Production to create innovative pieces based on the designers' ideas, concepts, and sketches that reflect themes from the exhibition. The GlassLab program has provided acclaimed designers with the opportunity to experiment with glassmaking technology, and share with the public a firsthand view of the design and production process since 2007. From Imperial To Contemporary: A Rediscovery of Traditional Austrian Craft and Manufacturing Thomas Geisler will speak about contemporary design work in Austria, including Viennese tableware, 20th century and contemporary design. Gardens of Delight In celebration of summer, two floors of the Museum are devoted to a major exhibition on horticulture and its many reflections in art. Apart from a number of important loans, the show is drawn primarily from the Museum's permanent collection. Nearly 500 decorative objects, furnishings, paintings, prints, drawings, books, and textiles with floral motifs are included. The Catalan Spirit: Gaudí and His Contemporaries Works by Antoni Gaudí i Cornet and his contemporaries in the Catalan Modernisme movement are on display. In addition to Gaudí, the group included Elies Josep Puig i Cadafalch, Lluís Domènech i Montaner, and Camil Oliveras i Gensana.
