African Design Series
A collaborative program with The Africa Center and the Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt, National Design Museum.
Join Sandra A. M. Bell, a 3rd generation carnival and costume designer of the famous Morris family of Trinidad & Tobago to create works of self-adornment and transformation. In this 3-part design workshop, learn how beaded aprons and warrior shields are significant cultural objects designed and used as part of rites of passage ceremonies in various parts of Africa.
