Members’ Auction Preview | Important Italian Glass at Wright


Open to Design Watch Members and above. Attend a Wright auction preview of Important Italian Glass: The Collection of Dimitri Levas, prior to its May 20 sale. This auction, featuring Dimitri Levas' remarkable Murano glass collection, represents Wright's finest glass sale to date. Other highlights include works by Napoleone Martinuzzi, Fulvio Bianconi, and Carlo Scarpa-whose vase was recently added to Cooper-Hewitt's permanent collection through the Members' Acquisition Fund. Sara Blumberg and Jim Oliviera, specialists in Venetian 20th century glass and consultants and founder-owners of Glass Past; Brent Lewis, Director of Wright New York; and Sarah Coffin, Cooper-Hewitt's Curator and Head of Product Design and Decorative Arts, will facilitate this event.

Cooper-Hewitt Visits Smart Design


The Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt has recently acquired several original prototypes and drawings used to develop OXO's Good Grips product line. Cooper-Hewitt curators identified this line for the museum's collection because the products were a game-changing innovation iconic of late 20th century design.
