Why Design Now?: The Story of Stuff

Why? In the Story of Stuff video, environmental activist Annie Leonard explains how products affect human society and the natural world as they make their way through the cycle of material extraction, manufacturing, consumption, and disposal. Free Range Studios worked with Leonard to create a compact, punchy script around simple, active stories, and iconic characters.

Ready, Set, Design!

Ready, Set, Design is one of our favorite educational activities here at Cooper-Hewitt. We use it as a way to introduce the concepts behind "design thinking" to all kinds of groups-- from kindergartners to professional designers to museum trustees. It's very adaptable, and lots of fun! Watch this video to learn how you can use Ready, Set, Design for your group! Find the accompanying PDF on Ready, Set, Design here: http://cdn.cooperhewitt.org/2011/09/02/Ready%20Set%20Design%20vX.pdf
