Architectural Fantasy and Reality (Accademia di San Luca)

An exhibition of 17th- and 18th-century drawings from the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca in Rome. The nearly 80 drawings on display were award-winning entries from an annual design competition held between 1694 and 1750. These ideal and exuberant project proposal drawings were composed by such artists as Filippo Juvarra, Bernardo Antonio Vittone, Carlo Fontana, and Carlo Marchionni.
