Contemporary Continuous Pattern

On View:
Tuesday, September 20, 1983 to Sunday, January 15, 1984

This exhibition presents patterns designed for continuous surfaces, with an aim to bring together a group of works that reflect personal points of view and begin to establish the look of the decade. On view are printed and painted fabrics, wallcoverings, woven fabrics, and preliminary design drawings reflecting a wide range of methods and materials, all created within the past three years. The exhibition includes the work of an international array of individual artists, small studios, and large manufacturers, from the United States, Japan, Italy, France, England, and the Netherlands.

Organized by Milton Sonday, Curator of Textiles, and Terry Gentille, Assistant Professor of Design at the Rhode Island School of Design.
