What's on at Cooper-Hewitt

While we're renovating the Mansion, we have an extensive range of events and programs for all ages happening at other venues around New York City.

Almost all our events are free of charge but we encourage advance booking to secure a place. Please also check the venue details when booking to make sure you know where to turn up to.

Weekly family programs run Tuesday through Saturdays and can be booked individually in the Family Programs section of our website.

Launched in fall 2013 with the iconic Finnish brand Marimekko, the Design by Hand series focuses on the craftsmanship, innovations and merits of contemporary global designers. Special programs connect university students, high school students, adults, and families with design.

Attend a Wright auction preview of Important Italian Glass: The Collection of Dimitri Levas, prior to its May 20 sale. This auction, featuring Dimitri Levas' remarkable Murano glass collection, represents Wright's finest glass sale to date. Other highlights include works by Napoleone Martinuzzi, Fulvio Bianconi, and Carlo Scarpa—whose vase was recently added to Cooper-Hewitt's permanent collection through the Members' Acquisition Fund. Sara Blumberg and Jim Oliviera, specialists in Venetian 20th century glass and consultants and founder-owners of Glass Past; Brent Lewis, Director of Wright New York; and Sarah Coffin, Cooper-Hewitt's Curator and Head of Product Design and Decorative Arts, will facilitate this event.

With an emphasis on designing for all of the senses, they have cultivated a diverse and collaborative studio that acts as the creative hub for an extended network of builders, fabricators, artists, engineers, chefs, and other collaborators.
