The Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum offers a series of FREE design-education programs for New York City high-school students, developed to introduce them to collegiate and career opportunities in design. Programs include hands-on activities led by professional designers, college visits, studio visits as well as professional development workshops.
2012 Cover Design Competition
We are now accepting submissions from high school students for the 2012 Cover Design Competition! The winning design will grace the cover of next year’s High School Directory, seen and used by more than 100,000 New York City students and their families. To get started, review the Official Entry Guidelines to learn about eligibility, judging criteria, and how to submit. Visit our Resources page for design inspiration and take a look at last year's finalists. There's also a Teacher Resources page where you can watch a video about graphic design featuring Ellen Lupton, curator of contemporary design at Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum.
Submissions are due by February 24, 2012, so start brainstorming and designing now! Last, but certainly not least, don’t forget to send in your consent forms with your entry.

Ready, Set, Design is a way to engage in design thinking. Participants are asked to solve an open-ended problem with time and material constraints. |
