Israel Museum
1973 Since it's inception in 1973, the department The Department of Design
and Architecture at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem has displayed over one
hundred and twenty exhibitions, many of which traveled abroad. The permanent
design collection serves as a rich source for research and exhibitions. The
department strives to keep abreast with contemporary movements in design and
architecture, making a point to present them within their social, economic,
and cultural context. Focus is also placed on the changing nature of the
language and process of design, including the latest industrial technologies
