Josef Albers, one of the most pioneering artists of his era, and his wife Anni, considered by many to be the foremost textile artist of the twentieth century, shared an aesthetic vision and philosophy which helped to transform the look of the modern domestic interior. This exhibition showcased both their iconic and their relatively unknown designs for everyday living.
Josef and Anni Albers: Designs for Living was organized by Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution, and the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation. Additional support was provided by Maharam.
