New York City teens joined the DesignPrep program this fall for a series of school visits to local art and design colleges. DesignPrep introduces teens to colleges and career opportunities in design. This fall a number of schools opened their doors to our students, sharing information about the admissions process and college life. Teens thinking about pursuing a career in fashion met the admissions team at the Fashion Institute of Technology. The prospective students met with undergraduates, toured the campus, got a firsthand look at the range of programs offered, and learned about what it takes to prepare a winning portfolio.
DesignPrep teens review portfolios with undergraduate students
Students interested in architecture and interior design joined us for a trip to The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art [http://cooper.edu/]. Established in 1859, it is among the oldest and most distinguished institutions of higher education in the country. Founded by inventor, industrialist, and philanthropist Peter Cooper, Cooper Union offers programs in art, architecture, and engineering, and has given every admitted student a full tuition scholarship.
